PLEASED TO BRUISE HIM

“Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand”. (Isaiah 53:10)

Every sin, sickness, and disease of the entire human race – every deformity, tumour, and perversion – entered into the physical body of the Lord Jesus Christ. That’s why His face looked worse than any other person who has ever lived, and His form became so distorted that He didn’t even look human. God did this to His Son.

God was pleased to bruise, hurt, and forsake His Son. He made Him suffer so much that Jesus didn’t even look human anymore. God was pleased to do that. It wasn’t because He’s a sadism or a mean God. It was because He knew that by putting all of our sin upon His Son that He would break Satan’s dominion and set the entire human race free.

God was pleased to do this because He knew it would totally solve the problem. By His Son’s suffering, the sin issue would be forever settled and the war would be over. The wrath of God was fully satisfied by the suffering of His Son. If you think that God is still upset with you, won’t answer your prayers, or move because you have some sin in your life, then you don’t have a clue what God did to His own Son.
